I played Lakes Resort Golf Club in the Coromandel and somehow put together one of the best rounds of my life, shooting -1 on a course built to become one of New Zealand’s premier golf destinations. Along the way, I caught up with the local pro to discuss the history of the course, how it’s designed to be played and why it never fully became what it was originally envisioned to be.
